Sunrise Mountain Hike Elopement

with Marcie + Andrew

A sunrise hiking elopement up 2000ft was the adventure that Marcie and Andrew chose for their wedding day. They wanted their elopement photos to be centered around the two things they love the most – nature and each other. We met in the trailhead parking lot at 5am, and started the hike before the sun came up. The trail was steep in most places, and within 20 minutes we were all shedding layers. Along the way we saw wild mushrooms, animals bones, and lots of epic views all around us. Within an hour we were above treeline, traversing across a steep mountainside to get to the remote gully on the other side of the peak. After temporarily losing the trail and some rock scrambling we found the spot perfect shady spot for them to say their vows.

They said their vows with laughter and exchanged rings as the sun started to bathe the mountain in gold light. After they pronounced themselves husband and wife we cracked a morning brew and said cheers! We took time for some fun and stoic portraits before heading back down the trail, knowing the journey back to the car would be just about as long as getting up there. Marcie hiked back in her dress, which made for fun trail shots, and lots of congratulations from fellow hikers. I highly recommend a hiking elopement for your special day! It is always a once in a lifetime experience, and we can customize it in so many ways. Head to my contact form to let me know if you want to plan a mountain elopement!
