with Melanie + TJ in Dillon, Colorado
This Colorado elopement took place right at the beginning of fall in early October in a Summit County location called Sapphire Point overlooking Lake Dillon. Melanie and TJ invited only their close friends and family, and said their I-dos in a short but sweet ceremony. Including a tearful reunion with a family member who surprised them, this was a joyful celebration within just a few hours! With our short timeline, Melanie and TJ wanted to focus on family photos and then a short portrait session for just the two of them. We took full advantage of the beautiful flower arch in front of the mountain backdrop before exploring the rest of the trail overlooking the Ten Mile Range.
This Colorado elopement is a really great example of eloping in style on a budget! With just a few floral arrangements and the added drama of the mountain view, Melanie and TJ’s simple outdoor ceremony became the stylish and adventurous wedding photos they always wanted. Sapphire Point is an amazing small ceremony or elopement destination because of its ease of access and view of the Ten Mile peaks. The walking path to the ceremony spot doubles as a great “first-look” moment for the groom as the bride comes into view around the trees, and the cobblestone gathering area and sitting wall look like a scene from an old castle. Having shot here a few times I know the ins and outs! Let me know if you are interested in having your special day at this intimate wedding location in Colorado!
