I grew up in Colorado, camping often and playing in the dirt. Outside is preferable, but getting wrapped up in blankets and watching Ted Lasso on a rainy day are a close second. I love Mexican/Asian food and cupcakes. On any given day my Spotify is playing I Prevail, Kendrick, or Tyler Childers and Led Zeppelin. My calendar used to be very full as a traveling wedding photographer, but these most recent days I am more content to slow down and be present. I still take road trips to spend my days mountain or gravel biking, river surfing, and thrift store hunting. I’d love to see more of the world, as much of it as possible. More importantly – I want to live an intentional, purposeful, kind-hearted life with my family and friends.

I started Heather Jackson Photography because I wanted a fulfilling career – to give my clients an unforgettable experience. Making clients comfortable and happy, while creating unique and personal photographs that they can see themselves and their life or business alive in really keeps my cup full. I’ve had different jobs but there is nothing I’d rather do than be adventure branding photography with the clients who are my people. The mountain loving, barefoot on a dirt road, deep talks and eye contact, and hugging just cause it feels good kind-of people. The people who see the beauty of life is not in the perfecting of it, but in the happy and sad times alike, and that not much matters besides the dreams, places, people (and animals) that you love. Memories are some powerful SOB’s, and they will make up the years you look back on when your face is wrinkled with lines of laughter and days spent exploring in the sunshine. I’ve spent many years photographing the outdoor sports industry and it led me to have a different perspective on photographing business, products, couples and families. I love the storytelling images, and bit nontraditional portraits that are more art than look-at-me-and-smile. Movement, genuine emotion, a little bit of grit, and willingness to have fun is a recipe for us to make some magic.

I cannot say enough how awesome of a job Heather did for our wedding. Not only do I love the preview of our photos we got (still got some time before the rest arrive) but they are now my favorite photos ever. Taking photos takes up so much time at a wedding and Heather made it fun, comfortable, and memorable. I genuinely think that without her, the day wouldn't have been as special. Things were stressful at times, but not a single thing with her went wrong. She should be charging more, because she was more professional than every vendor we had and the pictures are phenomenal. Seriously phenomenal. The photos, the service, the laughs 10/10 Without her that day wouldn't have gone the way it did and unexpectedly, she is a huge part of our day we will never forget.

Best. Photographer. Ever. Heather did our engagement and wedding photos and I feel all the feels when I look at both because she captured us so well. Heather is so so so talented. I cannot say enough good things about her. I did extensive research looking for the best photographer and heather was the one! Sure her pictures are absolutely perfect but what absolutely made our wedding day was it was like she was a lifelong friend we brought with us to enjoy the day. I am not a picture person but you would never be able to tell that from heathers pictures. I am so happy I have these pictures I can look at for the rest of my life! The items we were complimented most about from our wedding: food and photographer. Before ever even seeing a finished photo, everyone told us that Heather was the best. Heather saved my mom’s wedding!! Colorado in November can be unpredictable and the outdoor ceremony was snowed it. My mom was so upset and Heather went into superhero mode! She arranged the ceremony indoors, moved around some stuff to make it look picture perfect, and saved the day!! On top of being hilarious, nice, and an overall life saver, she also delivered the perfect wedding pictures. She kept the wedding from falling apart and we couldn’t be more grateful.
