with Kat + Keaton
I loved this Estes park engagement session with Kat and Keaton. Their love story is so sweet – always kind of knowing each other through mutual groups in highschool, but finding each other on Facebook years later in their late 20’s. They had a beautiful baby girl together, and decided to get married quickly after. During their engagement session we decided to meet up at the Stanley hotel where they were staying that night for a drink and some photos around the hotel before heading in the park for mountain backdrops. The Stanley is a really unique hotel (besides the spooky history) and had many backdrops like the main staircase and gardens that I was drooling over. After some fun around the hotel we drove into the Moraine valley for sunset photos. We picked our way through the marsh and played in the creek- splashing and rock skipping contests a must. The evening light coming through the clouds in the valley was so beautiful, and we got a little messy popping the champagne bottle. We ended the session with Kat and Keaton telling each other specific things about why they love each other, and reflecting on how this moment would look together if we only had another 10 seconds to live. They both got a little teary-eyed at that thought and held each other close for a few moments. While it might be a deeply emotional and personal moment to share with your photographer, these are the genuine moments that make for authentic, unposed emotion. These are memories worth keeping, years from now looking back on your Estes park engagement session.
