with Keith and Jessica
As a traveling wedding photographer I get to see some really beautiful places. Keith and Jessica’s Garden Of The Gods Resort venue was absolutely stunning as a backdrop for our outdoor Colorado wedding Photograph session. Not even the rain could hold back how gorgeous the view from their ceremony site was. They said I-do overlooking Pikes Peak and the red rock pillars of the Gardens while clouds and sunshine shared the sky around the top of the mountain. Their small, intimate wedding of only 20 people was an honor to photograph and be a part of. One of my favorite moments was when they held their daughter of only 9 months and put her fingerprint on their marriage license. Tiny moments like that are the so significant on wedding days, and will be the moments that are never forgotten. Small, intimate weddings and elopements give me the extra time in-between big moments to document a lot of the little things like kids playing, and babies admiring flowers or offering me french fries. The lighting this day was an adventure wedding photographer’s dream, with just a fine layer of clouds to smooth the sun. A few minutes of thunderstorms made for fun shots of the rain falling around them as they laughed together, and quickly made way to a bit of afternoon sunshine. My last two favorite moments of the evening were the tears that Jessica and her mother shared during their portraits, and the messy champagne popping that was the perfect celebratory ending with the sun setting behind them. Rainy, messy days like this make for elegant but adventurous photography that I absolutely die for.
